School-centred initial teacher training (SCITT) leading to the award of PGDipEd (QTS)

The SCITT fee-paying route is open to home and EU graduates with settled or pre-settled status. Trainees train in the 11-16 phase and, in addition, we provide A Level experience in at least one of the two placement schools. All trainees who successfully complete this route will be awarded PGDipEd (QTS)*. The Post Graduate Diploma of Education with Qualified Teacher Status is like a PGCE, but the PGDipEd (also known as the PGDE) has the advantage of offering 120 credits towards a Master's qualification.   

Successful trainees on our SCITT route are likely to find teaching posts in KEC schools at the end of the programme.
