Tuition fees
Our tuition fees are as follows:
SCITT PGDE with QTS - £9,250
SCITT QTS-only - £8,250
If we offer you a place and you accept, you will be required to pay an additional £100 in advance of our two-day induction (late June) to cover our costs for DBS and health checks.
You can choose to pay your tuition fees up-front, or to take out a tuition fee loan.
A loan for the full tuition fee amount is available for eligible students in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
You are strongly advised to apply for student finance at an early stage.
Maintenance loans, bursaries and scholarships
Home and EU students may be eligible for a student maintenance loan to help towards accommodation and other living costs.
Department for Education (DfE) bursaries will be available for some applicants and will vary according to your degree class and the subject in which you are training. It is a condition of receiving a bursary that you intend to take up a teaching post in England at the end of the programme.
For the initial teacher training year 2025/26 bursaries and scholarships are available as follows:

Trainees in chemistry, computer science, languages (French, German and Spanish), mathematics and physics with a 2:1 or above can apply for a tax-free teacher training scholarship with the appropriate professional body. Chemistry (see the Royal Society of Chemistry website), computer science (see the BCS website), languages (see the British Council website), mathematics (see the IMA website) and physics (see the Institute of Physics website).
Trainees with a 2:2 may be awarded a scholarship in exceptional circumstances, if they have significant relevant experience.
Trainees awarded a scholarship cannot receive a bursary.
Disabled students' allowance
The King Edward's Consortium is an inclusive provider. We will support you during your training year and make any reasonable adjustments to ensure that we meet your specific needs. Salaries
Trainees on the School Direct (salaried) programme will be employees of their training school and will be paid at no less than point one of the unqualified teacher pay scale (currently £21,731). In some cases, KEC School Direct (salaried) trainees will be supernumerary. Should the employing school and the KEC consider the applicant to be competent to take on some teaching responsibility from the start of the programme, this will be limited to a maximum of 12 hours per week.
Most successful applicants to the School Direct (salaried) programme will have worked for three years before beginning the programme.
